Most of you probably don't know that I wear contacts. And that before bed, I hang around the house in glasses. This a debut of sorts.



Lately, I've been in love with Netflix. Randomly finding great TV. Now, I'm really getting into Mad Men. Just started watching it this week after tweeting about feeling like the only person on Earth not tuning in.. Don Draper.. sigh. I love the sixties clothing and how adorable the men all look in slick hair and skinny ties. And of course, how the series is mainly set in Manhattan, New York. My favorite city at the moment.

Leather Shorts

Abercrombie and Fitch Leather shorts, Bebe Leather Jacket, American Apparel Burn Out T-Shirt, Balenciaga shoes


Since my Saturday was spent rained in, I tried to use my time wisely... I started with organizing my closet. Storing the Fall/Winter wear away and bringing out the Spring/Summer pieces. Somewhere along the way I rediscovered these leather hot pants. You can see how I wore these shorts last summer here.

When I woke up to a sun-filled room Sunday morning you can only imagine my excitement. I couldn't wait to wear my leather shorts again. I ended up layering leather. I think this leather jacket is the most worn item on my blog, aside from jeans... To think I accidentally found it when a friend dragged me into the store with a return. As I headed in behind her, I spotted it on the mannequin. The last one, and in my size, too. I didn't think twice and on an impulse purchased it. I'm so glad I did.

I'm also happy that 90210 and Gossip girl return tonight!! xoxo...

Birthday Girl!

The girls surprised me with a pre-Birthday lunch yesterday. We went Greek! There was Spanakopita (Greek Spinach Pie) This is an authentic, really rich pie stuffed with spinach, onions, cheeses and herbs that are all enfolded by crispy, flaky phyllo dough. We also had Grape leaves and Mediterranean salads all around. I'm anxious to find out what other surprises are in store for me tonight!?!!

Ever since I saw this editorial in Teen Vogue magazine, I've wanted to try to recreate the look. And of course, own those Ash wedges; which I am quickly finding to be a permanent fixture to my summer wardrobe. Thanks to a lovely representative over at Sophistix who sent these shorts my way, among a few other fabulous pieces. The moment I saw them I was instantly reminded of the era of pantaloons and the type of dressing showcased on Showtime's television series hit, The Tudors. Jonathan Rhys Meyers would be proud. ;)

After watching a creepy countdown on young girls being kidnapped and vanishing into thin air on E! last night, I came across this really great article. Safety Tips for Women (and men, too!) Be safe out there, folks! On a more cheerful note, who else has a celeb-crush on Freckles... aka.. Evangeline Lilly from Lost? She's peeking out of my bag from the cover of one of my favorite Elle magazine issues (May 2006). I need to buy Lost Season 4...... haven't seen it yet. I need to have it.

Delta Bay

I haven't done this in a while, a post about the girl behind Fashion Chalet; me. In a semi-list format I shall reveal some more... I can't wake up without putting my contacts in and warming an oversize mug of mocha coffee, I enjoy sipping it while catching repeats of It's On With Alexa Chung and Keeping Up With the Kardashians; or anything else equally salacious and guilt-inducing. I used to collect stamps as a kid and then started collecting friendship bracelets, now I collect shoes. When I can't fall asleep, I like to dream about winning the lottery and what I would do with it. I also like to daydream about my favorite celebrity or fashion icon letting me inside her closet to pick whatever pleases my senses. I think window shopping is best during the Holidays; as the scent of cinnamon from Starbucks coffee wafts by, familar tunes caress my ears and a comfy scarf is mandatory. Before bed, I brush my teeth, read a good book or flip through a magazine while playing Bejeweled to a Genius mix on my iPod touch.

Chinese Laundry

Thanks to the lovely Martha over at Chinese Laundry for my new shoes. Definitely a mood lifter after being told my Tribal wedges were sold out at Office in my size. These babies are just as haute!

I'm trying to play catch-up on comments, I promise to get back to your questions and comments really soon. Just know that I do read each and every single one and find myself smiling and happy with each word I receive.

What are your weekend plans? I rented a bunch of movies in hopes of chilling out on the cozy new sofa with popcorn (melted milk chocolate kisses on top, please) and chilled bottles of water. It's supposed to rain.... If the sun decides to show her lovely face, then to the Water park with plenty-of-slides it is.

For those of you who have been following my blog for sometime now, you may recognize my wedges from this previous post. In an Autumnal mood, I opted for a light weight denim jacket. Not cold enough for pants or boots, just yet, but at least it's cool enough for a light jacket. I decided to pay homage to one of my all time favorite television shows from when I was a kid, Salute Your Shorts. A Nickelodeon based series that aired in the early 90's; about a group of misfit kids all bonding together to beat the Counselor at his system.
