Romantic Bohemian

When I first found this white eyelet dress, I knew I had to try and channel D&G S/S 2010.

Part of the fun in blogging is unearthing the perfect setting to match the mood and feel of the outfit. When Alex and I came across this spot, with hay strewn about the floor, I instantly thought about Chanel S/S 2010.

D&G and Chanel: the perfect marriage!

After careful consideration, I've come to realize what my "style" and personal preferences truly are. I tend to gravitate towards feminine, soft frilly pieces with girly skirts and prints. Native American influenced fringe, braids, feathers and turquoise also enliven me. Bohemian rings true with my aura.

Forever 21 rings, dress and suede fringe bag. H&M bow hair-clip. Minnetonka Knee-Hi boots.

Autumn Orange

How was your weekend? I hope great. It's become quite a tradition among the women in my family that Sunday is the day the men cook, not the women. So keeping with tradition, the men made a barbecue and the women relaxed. Afterward, we spent the afternoon scouring for Sweety's favorite pet store, Pet Supermarket; which for some reason doesn't seem to be around here. Luckily, we came across Petco which conveniently carries her favorite brand of pet food and treats. I've also recently become acquainted with Redbox, a movie rental service akin to a candy vending machine. 1 movie for $1 per day. In Florida, we used to rent all of the latest releases from the local library for free. That isn't the case in North Carolina, I guess reading is more standard than renting movies? The cold does that to you I guess.

Complex Geometries top. Banana Republic sweater. Danskin leggings. Bakers Balmain booties. Bare Accessories bag. OPI in Vodka & Caviar.

Weardrobe Challenge #1: American Apparel Circle Scarf

Suz and Rich of Weardrobe contacted me to invent a few different ways of wearing this lovely purple American Apparel circle scarf that they generously sent my way. We're calling it the Sisterhood of the Traveling Scarf! And this was my first "cozy look" taken just after a wonderful Chinese lunch. Here I am clad in my glasses and a houndstooth print newsboy cap. It was a chilly afternoon, so a sweater and my favorite ankle hi Minnetonka trampers helped in completing my cozy wares.

    Click for Sweety.
She was also out and about in the sun with us that day!! =]

Cap: TopGear. Sweater: Vintage (thank you, Mom!) Pants: Mudd. Shoes: Minnetonka. Circle Scarf: American Apparel.

Morning Glory in Gray

I am not a morning person.. but.. I so love an early morning when I can have toasted (plain) English muffins with strawberry jam and butter which I then proceed to "dunk" into my Mocha café. I love waking up early to go to Disney world, pulling on sweats for class, warm chocolate croissants, watching MTV with breakfast, staying in bed with a really good song on my iPod, today's was "Viva la Vida" by Coldplay haha! Here's to those wonderful gray early mornings.

Raglan: American Apparel. Necklace: forever 21. Shorts: diy cut offs from Blue Cult.Tights: Urban Outfitters. Boots: Minnetonka.

    Happy Friday!

I dream of Jeannie

I finally have some time to rewind and relax; after a long and exhausting week (and weekend) of Holiday hoopla! I was away for almost a week, 6 days to be exact. And now I must prepare for NYE '09. I still don't know what to wear. 50% chance of rain and 50% chance of a cold front coming through. Decisions. Decisions. Any ideas??? I look forward to reading some. On another note, Sweety, our Christmas puppy, learned some cool tricks. How to "sit" and how to "crawl" she's an excellent student. I hope to have some videos up later on in the blog.

Thank you Demi for this award. You left me all teary eyed with what you had to say!!

Fashion Chalet: She is one of the 'queens' of the blogosphere (haha) getting up to 100 comments on each post, yet she answers and replies to every single one individually. She could just be lazy and say 'oh thanks' but she doesn't, she actually cares and replies. I just find this so kind and amazing, it must be incredibly time-consuming!! And she is the loveliest person ever, inside and out!

PS: Your comments always rock my socks and never fail to impress and astound me. Thank you, my lovely readers!!! --YOU ALL deserve the award!!--

Cosmo Girl. Passion for fashion, and a magic flask

With body con dresses all the rage in the blogosphere kingdom, it occurred to me that I could double my extra long and clingy tank top as a body con dress. I kept it classy by pairing it with a military style jacket on top. Then I thought, why not add in my love for fringe (and Balmain) with the Bakers knock off ankle booties?

I am still feeling full from the Thanksgiving Holiday festivities over the last weekend. I like to call it a "non-stop Food fest" of sorts. The "over" eating started last Thursday morning and lasted until last night, Sunday. Let's just say I don't want to see a Turkey anytime soon. I relaxed my full tummy filled with hot cocoa and apple fritter strudel last night; by watching the MTV Special; Britney: For the Record. Anyone else excited for her new record? I remember being jealous of her when she was dating Justin of N'Sync, then slowly but surely I came around to her. One of my favorite performances was the re-mixed version of "Baby One More Time" for her Britney Spears Dream Within a Dream Tour in Las Vegas dvd.

“Bad girls always wear red nail polish; on their toes.”

I thought I'd make this particular post a little bit about the things I most enjoy. Gilmore girls for one, where the idea for the title of this post came from. Getting to know Erika (Fashion Chalet) a little bit better, means spending time with me at the bookstore; sipping a latte while pouring over a myriad of Fashion magazines. Scouring Vintage boutiques for the perfect, already worn in, leather boots and bags. An afternoon lunch at Sweet Tomatoes; salad and soup anyone? How about a walk in the park with a great book to read under a large shady tree? Oversized sunglasses in tow, of course. Target, Nordstrom and Barnes & Noble are other frequented haunts. Classical music soothes me. The Olsens inspire me. Audrey Hepburn is who I aspire to be. Rodarte, Balmain and Louboutin are what I crave most. Chanel is my makeup. America is my homeland. Fashion is my passion. Shoes are my compulsion. Juicy Couture is my guilty pleasure. American Apparel makes my heart beat. Marc Jacobs used to make my heart soar. Forever 21 leads me to great dresses and off beat jewelry. John Galliano, a genius in my eyes. The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein still makes me cry. Fringe is my favorite accessory on everything. I 'd love to walk in Carine Roitfeld's shoes for a day. Jak and Jil make me crave my addiction that much more. And, I anxiously anticipate the release of Where The Wild Things Are movie, slated for October 2009.

Dress: Vintage. Cardigan: Marc Jacobs. Tights: Target. Ankle Fringed Booties: Bakers.
