Kicking back on Sunday with Lanvin and the Oscars

Before, one could only imagine the outcome of creativity if Cleopatra: Queen of the Nile and Pocahontas were BFF's and swapped wardrobes. Well now, you can see it and this is exactly what it would look like: furs, feathers, black fringe, tribal jewelry and pleated metallics. Lanvin took my breath away. Well done, Alber Elbaz!

Paris Fashion Week really won me over this Season.

    Famous faces:
Magdalena Frackowiak, Freja Beha Erichsen, Anna Selezneva and Natasha Poly.

Can anyone identify the model on the far left?

    Other noteworthy collections:
Christian Dior (Think: Newsies meets high-end, yet old fashioned, Circus glamour.) Isabel Marant (Sandy, from Grease, would so wear this. 50's and 60's chic to the max!) Gareth Pugh (beetle shaped capes and Space traveling-ready boots.) Nina Ricci (brought Old Hollywood Glamour back, in the form of body hugging knee length tea dresses, lace and pops of happy color.) Dries Van Noten (Think: Pretty in Pink, Ferris Bueller, with a tinge of Back to the Future / 80's cool!) And we can't forget about Balmain - Equal parts trendsetting and a flashback to 1970's: Disco glam.

Who saw Alice in Wonderland over the weekend? Thoughts? Likes/dislikes? I usually wait for the crowds to dissipate before attempting to view a feature film... I like it quiet and empty.

Ps. What is/was your favorite dress from The Oscars last night? I absolutely loved Sarah Jessica Parker's hair.

And, a food snap. For those of you who requested more of them.

A typical breakfast of biscuits with strawberry jam, banana and mocha coffee (made by moi!)

Clouds in the Sky

Went to the Arboretum over the weekend to take photos of Flowers before a Holiday party. My Thanksgiving weekend consisted of family gatherings, parties, barbecues and picnics at the Park and yes, eating and eating and eating. I also made Cranberry dressing for the very first time, it seemed to be a hit and now a new tradition. Hope yours was great as well!!

Vintage coat. Barneys New York dress and handbag. Payless tights. Vintage suede Lanvin pumps.

Now onto the big blogger secret I've been hanging onto for some time now, the one I keep teasing and tweeting about...
I'm going to New York next week.

I was cordially invited to a red carpet event. I'm so excited as this will be my very first time to the City. I'll be there for roughly 2 days, and would really love to pack in good eating, sightseeing, picture-taking, shopping and perhaps even some blogger meets ups!? Recommend away!!! I'll be staying Midtown Manhattan. I really want to see as much as possible!!!

Pain au Chocolat

Whenever I immerse myself in Chanel, a beret or in decadent perfume; I feel a need for some pain au chocolate (chocolate pastries) while strolling the streets of Paris. One of the necklaces I am wearing, the one with the black satin bow, is from the house of Lanvin and one of my most prized possessions.

On another note, I'm thrilled to share news of a brand new Ice Skating rink opening in Raleigh, one to rival the Ice Rink at Rockefeller Center in New York City. I'm a dancer and skater at heart, so this news greatly excites me!! One step closer, Lissa. Now, if only I had access to the Met steps, too. ;)

The Scarlet Room Chanel graphic tee. Lanvin necklace. Vintage beret, bag and skirt. Urban Outfitters tights. Calvin Klein oxfords.
