With Summer in full force and the Sun, relentless. Sleeveless tanks are a must-have. I'm really into electric blue and shocking neons at the moment. The fluorescent bag is so bright in person, it's unbelievable. This is my first time wearing aviator sunglasses. What do you think? I wore this casual outfit yesterday to run errands in. I got a brand new desk chair. It's like sitting on whipped cream. Perfect for this full-time fashion blogger. ;)

When I first received this piece in the mail it came as a button up dress. I decided to wear it open over cut offs a la Nicole Richie. It's a great pick me up for any casual outfit. The addition of the long, opened blouse creates a bit of fun and flair for even the most casual of looks.. Exhibit A. Cut offs and a tank top... of course, the look thirsted for some much needed height, in the form of my favorite suede wedges.

P.S. I need your help. How do you cure insomnia? I used to be a deep sleeper. Nothing woke me up. Now, it takes me hours to fall asleep. Which would be fine if I could actually stay asleep. Instead I wake up from the slightest sounds. Any solutions? I'd greatly appreciate them.

Yesterday I met up with one of my readers in Barnes & Noble. She told me she had been reading my blog before I moved to North Carolina and only just now realized that I lived in Raleigh, like her. We perused Russh magazine and Paris Vogue and of course talked all things fashion for more than 3 hours. This was my first time meeting a reader this way, and I had an absolute blast! New York is known for its busy streets and gourmet dining. I have come to realize that the options are endless when it comes to choosing. Dinner at Pastis was nothing short of delectable. The fries were extremely delicious and were teasing me with their aroma from the moment I walked in.


I chose the spinach raviolis while Karen and Alejandro both ordered fish.


Dessert quickly followed:

Sticky Toffee Pudding (my favorite, hands down!!) with vanilla ice cream

...and Strawberry Shortcake with fresh cream.



After dinner we all went for a spin around the City. Times Square lit up at night still makes me gasp..



We ended the evening with chilled champagne and Pretty in Pink in bed.

Butterflies and Hurricanes

I feel as if I am becoming quite the Jeffrey Campbell aficionado. I can't help it. I love shoes.



My YSL ring makes another debut & I find it funny that the only finger she fits on is my middle left one. Alexa Chung wears hers the exact same way.



The scarf I am wearing is by Obakki and I am very excited to share the story behind it. The Obakki Foundation went to Cameroon, Africa and gave 150 children living in three orphanages a piece of paper and a pen, and asked them three questions: What makes you happy? What makes you sad? What makes you afraid? 100% of proceeds go directly to helping the children. Every heartfelt answer they wrote down is scrawled all over this scarf.

Now I ask you: What makes you happy, sad, and afraid?

I take delight in the idea of mixing different, yet not completely contrasting prints, irresistible this summer. I find when wearing a more fitted item on top (or bottom) a slightly baggier piece complements the other half. As attractive as wearing a men's dress shirt and wrist watch with a short skirt and a pair of incredible heels.



As for the shoes, which are more often than not affectionately referred to as my monster moon boots … I love them that much more for their Frankenstein dungeon appeal...
