I have a feeling these riding pants have been having a stand-off with my jeans at night, thus winning every time I choose to don them. With the orange leaves beginning to fall off the trees and a swirl of wind tangling through my hair, I was inspired to take out the Varsity jacket again. Lately, I've become fascinated with pieces that have a bit of leather to them. It adds a nice, subtle panache to an everyday look. The dalmatian print slippers, the softest loafers on the block, were the finishing touch.

It's a funny thing how style preferences change and evolve with each season. Last year, all I wanted was high heels and platforms. Now, I'm all about flats or chunky, low heels. Loafers are making quite the rotation in my wardrobe as well. I've quickly amassed a variety of styles. These are my current discovery. Dalmatian print is back and with a vengeance. Storming the Dolce and Gabbana catwalk to cloaking any handbags and flats in its path. I'm all for it.

One of my favorite things about Fall is dressing for comfort. Layering pieces. Stocking up on scarves, gloves and tights. The time of year when flats are found most appropriate. I have been dreaming about riding pants for the last month. So I was very excited to find these on my doorstep last week. Versatile and completely comfortable! My other obsession du jour? Penny loafers. Who knew that when I used to wear these with my uniform in Private School, I'd ever want to wear them again "just because"? Now, instead of thinking about homework or the hottie in homeroom, I'm thinking about all of the outfits I can pair them with. Did I mention they're patent? I'm in love!!

Whenever I meet someone new, they always ask me if I'm Italian for some reason? I'm not. In fact my family roots are deeply cemented in Spain, France and Cuba. And, I was born in Miami, Florida. However, I adore the Italian language, Italian music and Italian food. When I pulled on this sheath of a dress I felt romantic and a tiny bit Italian. Didn't hurt that Alex and I were celebrating some great news at an Italian restaurant I suppose...

Whenever I wear dresses, I feel like a princess. I've always been fond of the Disney princesses (and for a day) I felt like Belle.

P.S. To any of you using Netflix Instantly Online.. am I the only one bothered by their pulling shows and movies off at random? I was really getting into a TV program only to find out it will be removed on Friday. I still have two more seasons left to go =(

Whenever I wear these heels, I feel seven feet tall. I am infatuated with pairing sky-high platforms and über skinny jeans. Since the jumper reminded me of the Nineties, in every good way possible, I just had to pair it with acid wash skinnies. The fact that these pumps remind me of Minnie Mouse, doesn't hurt either. Who wouldn't want to be reminded of the most magical place on Earth with every glance at their feet?

Whenever I attempt to organize my closet what I strive to take only an hour usually turns into a three or four hour chore. I tend to leave the daunting task aside for long weekends, when I have the allotted time to actually sit down and sift through it all. I took on the challenging excavation last week... that's when I found this dress. Previously worn here. It's one of my favorite basics. It's perfect for layering. And what girl doesn't have a little black dress in her wardrobe? If she doesn't, she should. The perfect compliment? A wooly, mohair shrug and some killer black heels.

Holiday Party Season has started and I've kicked things off on a pink note. I remember when I was a little girl I would dress my Barbie dolls up in pink, poofy dresses, shocking neon plastic pumps and comb out their hair really, really big. Not much has changed since then, except for maybe the big hair part. I still have an affinity for pink that runs deep. Something about this dress reminds me of the Eighties, Madonna and Jennifer Garner in 13 Going on 30. It's always the unexpected pieces that play a role in making fashion so exciting!
