After seeing Zooey Deschanel take to the red carpet for the 2012 Golden Globe Awards in a custom made emerald Prada frock, I couldn't help being reminded of this Everly dress. After a few spins in this thing, I feel like Zooey Deschanel as Jess in New Girl. Can't you too imagine Zooey in this playful, green dress?

Vampires Wear Ray-Bans!?

When I look at Ray-Ban sunglasses, particularly the Wayfarer style, I think about Vampires. I find the design, shape and dark color perfect for a budding Vampire. Don't you?

What is it about Vampires I find so alluring? Maybe it's the fact that most Vampires portrayed in film or television are ridiculously good looking? That might be it. There's also an interest with their dark, secret world. Mythical and magical. Or maybe Edward Cullen and the Salvatore brothers have simply engulfed us with their big, dreamy eyes and pompadour hairstyles? It's funny how at first my Mom thought the enthrallment of Vampires was weird. Though now, having recently seen all 3 installments of Twilight, wants to see the newest film on the big screen asap! Even my hairstylist confided in her Mom tuning into The Vampire Diaries each week. I think Vampires are being rendered more and more as romantic beings instead of scary creatures..

What do I foresee as the next spell to take the World by storm? It's already begun... Fairy Tales! From Grimm to Once Upon a Time.. and now, the remake of Snow White. I'm so there!!

Favorite Summer Outfits

Some of my favorite outfit outtakes from Summer 2011. *Click each image to see the full post and details.

And now, some Random Facts About Myself:

+ I don’t like to walk barefoot except at the beach, on the warm sand. Indoors I’m always in slippers or sandals of some sort.

+ I prefer evaporated milk in my cereal and 2% in my coffee.

+ I tend to organize things numerically and/or alphabetically. With my Fashion magazines, it’s by date and month.

+ As a kid, I used to collect anything miniature. From stickers to erasers to Polly Pocket. Every now and again when I see something infinitesimally small, I’m reminded of my collecting phase.

+ I get really nervous around celebrities I admire. I also hate public speaking.

+ I used to turn down dates on Friday nights just so I could watch the TGIF lineup on Television. I’d always reschedule for a Saturday date night though! ;)

+ I like to plan everything. I always need to know “what’s next” on my schedule. Otherwise I cannot relax. I’m a Virgo, what can I say?

+ I love to read before bed. I go through books like water. I’m reading something new every 2 days.

+ I splurge on magazines the most when I’m traveling. I treat myself to tabloids and Fashion books to read on the plane. I also stock up my iPod with hundreds of songs.

+ I can’t sleep without hugging a pillow or stuffed animal.

+ I used to ride my bike around the neighborhood when I was little, walkman in tow. Singing along to my Free Willy Michael Jackson soundtrack.. the boys would tease me…. lol!

Finally Friday! Here's a quick post sharing a little more about me, Questionnaire style..

How many browser windows do you have open at the moment for online window shopping? 2

What's on your iPod right now? Ray LaMontagne, Casiokids, Oh Land, and the Honey Brothers

What was the last article of clothing or accessory you purchased? Shoes!

What piece do you wish most to add to your closet at the moment? Capes and riding pants for Fall

What current trend are you loving the most? Neon, forever and always.

What current trend do you hate the most? Creepers

What is your fave style or fashion-centric television program? Mad Men and Sex and the City, of-course!!

Who is your favorite designer at the moment? Isabel Marant never ceases to amaze me with her designs. Flattering, comfortable and cool. I love how she bridges between girly feminine and tomboy casual.

What is your favorite footwear line? Chuck Taylor All Star Converse (for sneakers) Christian Louboutin (for timeless heels) and Balenciaga (for edgy footwear!)

How fast can you Name That Model on the Catwalk? I know about 20-25 by face and can yell out their names pretty quickly.



Three words to describe your overall sense of style? Classic, feminine with edge. I love dressing up in classy pieces and looking like I'm on my way to somewhere important. I also enjoy dressing down, in edgier, street style pieces. I go for comfort most of the time, but sacrifice with my choice of shoes.. that's Fashion for you, though. ;)

How would you describe your winter look? Easy and cozy. I collect chunky knits, oversize coats and cardigans. I pull ankle boots off the shelves. And layer a lot with leggings.

What will your look be this spring? Sundresses, color blocking with pastels and espadrilles in funky colors. I'm sure my ideas will change again by then though..

What trend do you see becoming the biggest come spring? Straw colored dresses and bags. Winter colors like red wine, and burgundy mixing with whites and ocean blues.

What's your pick for the "it" tech gadget of the moment? iPhone and iPad. Especially the latter, I can't live without mine.

Who is your pick for the most stylish "it" celeb? The Olsens, always. And Olivia Palermo.

If someone handed you $10,000 where would you spend it? In Paris!

Favorite shopping destination? New York and Bal Harbour Shops in Miami.

What are you reading right now? The Minpins by Roald Dahl, I just purchased a collector's set of 10 of his books as well.

Favorite snack? Stacey's Pita Chips

Yay, in less than 2.5 days I'll be in New York.. Fashion Week, here I come!!

Many of the songs I listen to play a large role in what I wear on the blog. Music is a huge inspiration to me, and I work better with it. I'm also guilty of using the "Repeat ON" function. Sometimes a certain song gets me in just the right zone and state of mind. I rarely use the Shuffle mode.. unless I'm working out.

Golden Valentine

Thinking of rocking this dress again for dinner tonight. Previously posted here. I'm making homemade pasta for dinner with an italian salad and goat cheese rolls. They say food is the best way to a man's heart, no? I'm also excited because right after dinner, we fly out to NYC!!! See you there.
